How it works
The SHIMA Hydrocool is a lightweight and easy to use cooling vest. Simply soak it under water for three minutes, then squeeze the excess water and gently wipe the inside. Done! Now you can enjoy the pleasant feeling of coolness for 6 to 8 hours (cooling time depends on the air temperature). Thanks to the innovative HyperKewl™ PLUS material, the vest absorbs and slowly evaporates water. This technology works by absorbing water into the material which is placed between the waterproof inner liner and the ventilated outer fabric. When air flows through, the natural evaporation process creates a feeling of coolness. Featuring a front zip and the EvoLink System, the vest is easy to wear and can be connected to selected SHIMA jackets. While it does an excellent job of cooling, the mesh (that's the non cooling material, near the upper shoulders and lower back) stinks to high heavens. I wish it were different, and i seldom give products, functionally as good as this, a 1 start. I HAVE HAD TO THROW IT OUT.... THE SMELL IS THAT BAD. If i hadn't, it would pass that smell on to my clothes and back straps
